A furnace on its own earns a $100–$200 rebate. Pair it with a matching American Standard air conditioner or heat pump and the rebate jumps to $400–$850 — plus $50 more with a smart thermostat. If your AC is aging too, fall is the smartest time to replace both: one install visit, one matched system, one warranty, and the largest rebate of the year.
Good to know: a matched system runs quieter and more efficiently than mixing an old outdoor unit with a new furnace, and it’s the only way to qualify for the top-tier rebates below.

Focus on Energy’s larger discounts go to households under 80% of area median income for their county and household size (Focus on Energy publishes the 2026 limits; we’ll check yours in two minutes). Approval has to happen before the install (it’s not retroactive), takes about three business days, and can be done with a recent tax return or proof of WHEAP, Medicaid, FoodShare or similar programs. We walk you through it during your estimate and put the approval number on your paperwork. The same approval also unlocks bigger Focus on Energy rebates on insulation and air sealing.
Focus on Energy discounts are funded by participating Wisconsin utilities and available only to their customers; 2026 program amounts shown, subject to change. Equipment must be on the Focus on Energy qualified product list; we confirm your utility, fuel and exact discount on your written estimate.

Common questions
Do I have to install by a certain date?
Yes. Purchase (sign your agreement) between October 1 and November 15, 2026, and have the system installed by December 1, 2026. We schedule the install when you sign so both dates are locked in.
Is the rebate really instant?
Yes. It’s shown as a line item on your estimate and invoice. You pay the reduced amount; Red Barn files the claim with American Standard.
Can I combine this with other offers?
It can’t be combined with other national American Standard consumer offers. It can be combined with Focus on Energy instant discounts (see above) and with our payment plans.
Does a heat pump make sense in central Wisconsin?
Often, yes — paired with a gas furnace as a dual-fuel system, the heat pump handles mild days at lower cost and the furnace takes over when it’s truly cold. We’ll show you the numbers for your home.
What if I’m not sure my AC needs replacing?
We’ll tell you honestly. If your AC has years left, a furnace-only replacement still qualifies for a $100–$200 rebate, and we’ll note when a matched system would pay off.
